Science Hall 1 — Where Discovery Begins
Science Hall 1 is one of the original three buildings on campus, and it's been at the heart of scientific discovery at CSUSM since opening in 1992. Home to cutting-edge labs, faculty offices and research centers, it's where students get hands-on experience in fields that are shaping the future.
Inside, you'll find state-of-the-art facilities, including the W.M. Keck Center for Molecular Structure, the California Primary Algae Lab, the Terrestrial Ecosystems Research Lab and the Bridges to Stem Cell Research program. These aren't just classrooms — they're spaces where undergraduate students contribute to meaningful research alongside faculty experts.
