My first time living on campus, I was really nervous, however really excited. I remember going to
my dorm for the first time and I was able to meet my roommate. I had a fun time getting to know her
and just kicked off like the friendships that I would continue to make afterwards. The experiences
that you create with your roommates or even neighbors across the hall, it is a fantastic
experience.

CSUSM makes it really easy because we use the app called My College Roomie.
I was able to find a lot of candidates that had a lot of alignment to my interests and made it a
lot easier to transition from living at home to then living with people I've never really
interacted with before.

In my first new year I went to a lot of RA events and because I really had
a strong connection with my resident advisor, she was always checking on us, making sure that
school was doing good, that we were doing good.

They've been a really great supportive network for
me and I have connections that I hope can last me a lifetime.

North Commons has a rec room and
honestly it's just a really good space if you kind of want to focus outside of your room. But also
it's just really fun to play pool and ping pong with your friends. The benefits to being on campus
compared to living off campus is the proximity.

You really get to be where your classes are,
live, learn, and really be surrounded by your community.

I have so much more time freed up by being
no more than a 15 minute walk from anywhere I need to be. We have the Campus Way Cafe right on the
corner here and I can get it there in just another minute. You're just able to go over,
tap the QR code really quick.

And that's a really great place to hang out with friends after going
to classes all day. And then of course we have our on-campus gym. When you have a gym this close
by and it's free for students. you'd kind of be crazy to not go. Living at San Marcos,
there's a lot of restaurants.

There's a lot of outside activities. There's rock climbing right
across the street. There's hiking trails. There's a lot of activities that I'm able to do.
CSUSM has a lot of convenient transportation options. We actually have the Sprinter, which is right
on campus.

If you don't have a car, it's very easy to get to different places that you need to.
When you go, it is a discounted price for students. You're able to take it all the way down to the
Oceanside Pier. It also has a stop in between the Oceanside Pier as well as Cal State San Marcos.
My favorite part about living on campus was definitely the people that I met.

The networking and the connections that you make while living on campus are definitely a plus. It makes you feel...
like you've never left home. You're able to build a sense of community and I think you'll really
enjoy living on campus here at CSUSM.
